Nous espérons que vous avez tous passé un bon et heureux Noël ce week-end. Nous voilà remontés au refuge et les conditions n'ont guère évolué depuis ces derniers temps. La montée se fait tranquillement par le chemin ou la piste forestière, aucun risque particulier à part quelques passages glissants. La neige est dure et tassée, parfois un peu de glace vive, mais avec une bonne paire de chaussures et des bâtons pour vous stabiliser, tout ira bien ! Peu ou pas de neige avant la sortie de la forêt...
Le col de la Terrasse est déjà trop enneigé pour envisager d'y monter à pied (sauf si vous êtes vraiment déterminés et que vous êtes équipés de crampons-piolet...). Idem, la traversée vers Emosson ne se fait plus, il faudra attendre le retour de l'été maintenant. Vous pouvez cependant monter aux Charmoz, à pied toujours. Les raquettes sont parfaitement inutiles à l'heure actuelle. Le père Noël y est même passé dans la nuit de samedi et a laissé un joli sapin décoré au sommet ! Merci à lui !
Grâce à l'inversion de température, il fait souvent doux en terrasse, sauf quand le vent se lève. Le soleil arrive aux alentours de 9h30, bien plus tôt que dans la vallée, et nous tâchons d'en profiter. Avis aux amateurs de café matinal, ensoleillé et au calme !
Tout cela est bien agréable, mais nous attendons quand même la neige avec impatience nous aussi.
Pensez bien à nous téléphoner avant de monter, pour être sûr d'avoir une table en terrasse. Évidemment vous pouvez aussi passer la nuit chez nous, les jolies couleurs du soir valent le coup d’œil. Le refuge et les dortoirs sont chauffés, mais à 2020m d’altitude la température reste modérée, même au coin du feu. Couvrez-vous bien (d'autant plus que la grippe gagne du terrain, elle est arrivée au Couteray, mais gardez-la en bas s'il vous plaît !).
Voilà pour les premières nouvelles de la saison, nous en profitons pour vous rappeler que nous sommes ouverts tous les jours pendant les vacances scolaires, et que nous serons fermés du lundi soir au mercredi midi hors vacances scolaires.
